About us

Nederlandse Vereniging voor Autisme (NVA) – The Dutch Autism Association is the organization dedicated to advocating for the interests of people with autism and their loved ones—across all stages of life and all areas of life.

The NVA gives people with autism and their loved ones a voice and ensures that they are heard. The NVA is the organization in the Netherlands that, from the perspective of people with autism and their loved ones, works towards building an autism-friendly society; a society in which people with autism are optimally integrated, accepted, and as self-reliant as possible.

The NVA is involved in advocacy, providing reliable information, and facilitating peer contact in the community. The NVA fosters understanding and recognition. The NVA aims for people with autism and their loved ones to be themselves and to reach their full potential.

The NVA has been in existence since 1978. The association has over 15,000 members, including individuals with autism, parents, partners and other family members.
