About me

I am an associate professor at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Faculty of Behavioral and Movement Sciences, Department of Biological Psychology. This department manages the Netherlands Twin Register (NTR) and is a leading global player in the field of behavioral genetics. I specialize in relationships between genes and behavior, with an emphasis on the role of the brain. In addition to research, I have a prominent role in the education of the Psychology program at the VU. I am coordinator and teacher of various courses in the Bachelor program in Psychology and in the VU research Master program ‘Genes in Behavior and Health’.
