About me
Martin Perescis (Heerlen, 1980) has been a lecturer at the department of Applied Biology, HAS green academy, since 2008, specialising in applied animal sciences, brain & behaviour, and laboratory animals. A teacher’s PhD grant of the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (‘Promotiebeurs voor Leraren’) enabled Martin to combine his teaching work with research at the Department of Biological Psychology at Radboud University, Nijmegen. Many Applied Biology students participated in the data collection and analysis of the project. Martin successfully defended his thesis, entitled ‘Early pharmacological manipulations and seizure susceptibility later in life’ in February 2022. Not long after, he joined the Precision Livestock Farming research group of Lenny van Erp, still very much operating on the crossroads between education and research.
