Wonuola Akingbuwa is an Assistant Professor in the field of statistical geneticsat the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Her work involves the intersection of psychological measures, single-cell gene expression derived from brain tissue, common, and rare genetic variation with the aim of understanding the aetiology, course, and effects underlying complex psychiatric traits in the general population. Her research has often taken a developmental outlook, with her work investigating the genetics childhood and adult psychiatric traits culminating in publications in JAMA Psychiatry, Molecular Psychiatry, and the Journal of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
